This is a guide to the most useful functions on your TI graphic calculator (referred to throughout as the GDC - graphical display calculator). The illustrations of screen displays are based on the TI-84 but will be very similar to other models such as the TI-83.
The Help section contains brief instructions on some easily forgotten calculator management options. Many pages throughout the site refer to the use of graphic calculators. To find them enter GDC in the SEARCH box above right.
Symbols are the basic building blocks of mathematics. After you have studied mathematics at advanced level for a while you will come to appreciate that certain symbols tend to mean certain things. For example x and y are used to represent variables, whereas a and b are used to stand for constants. Greek symbols are commonly used too.
